‘Tis the season for feasting! With Christmas 2023 fast approaching, it’s time to wine and dine on the finest turkey, ham and log cakes that local restaurants have to offer. Regardless of whether you prefer a formal sit-down set dinner or a hearty, all-you-can-eat-buffet, there’s definitely something for everyone to enjoy this year.

Here are 12 spectacular buffets & dinners in Singapore for a festive celebration.

1. Gordon Grill 

Steak lovers may be familiar with the MICHELIN-recommended restaurant, Gordon Grill, which has been operating within Goodwood Park Hotel since 1963. You’ll be excited to learn that for Christmas 2023, Gordon Grill will be offering festive dinners to celebrate the jolly season.

The Festive 5-Course Dinner, only available from 1 to 29 Dec 2023 and 1 Jan 2024, excluding 23 and 24 Dec 2023, costs S$118 per pax.

The 5-course dinner begins with a refreshing Chilled Capellini Pasta with Hamachi Tartare, Trout Roe and Truffle Ponzu, before transitioning into a seafood dish of Hokkaido Scallop, Cranberry Orange Jam & Lemon Buerre Blanc. While I don’t usually consume scallops, I adored this dish— the scallops were firm yet tender as they had been cooked perfectly.

Before delving into the mains, enjoy a beautiful Sous Vide Organic Egg with Asparagus, Parma Ham Crisps & Hollandaise Sauce. This creamy creation is relatively simple, yet oh so delectable.

For the main course, choose from 2 options, with the first being the Australian Beef Tenderloin with Celeriac Puree, Mashed Potato, Broccolini, Griottines Cherry & Red Wine Jus. This was the perfect pick, especially since Gordon Grill is famous for its steaks!

The tenderloin had a slightly crisp and aromatic surface while the meat within had been cooked beautifully to a medium rare doneness. I especially loved the smooth, buttery mashed potatoes on the side, which complemented the star of the dish beautifully.

It’s not a Christmas dinner if turkey isn’t on the menu. The second main course to enjoy is the Sous Vide Turkey Breast with Celeriac Puree, Mashed Potato, Brussels Sprouts, Bacon, Cranberry & Giblet Sauce. The tender turkey was nicely marinated, with the sauces enhancing its taste. The bacon was a nice touch too, as its saltiness balanced out the milder flavours of the other elements.

Finally, enjoy 1 of 2 sweet treats to close off your meal. The Dulcey Chocolate Mousse with Chocolate Fudge Gateaux & Coffee Ice Cream provided a bit of a caffeinated kick, while the Buttery Pineapple Crumble Bar & Vanilla Ice Cream was the perfect blend of warm and cold temperatures.

Gordon Grill will also be having a Christmas Eve | New Year’s Eve Weekend 5-Course Dinner on 23, 24, 30 and 31 Dec 2023 for S$178++ per pax, and a Christmas Day 5-Course Dinner on 25 Dec at S$118++ per pax, so be sure to make your reservations on your preferred dates now!

2. Orchard Hotel Singapore

If you’re unsure of your dining plans for this Christmas 2023, Orchard Hotel Singapore has got you covered. This beautiful hotel will ensure that your stomach and heart remain full with its enticing dinner and buffet offerings. 

The Festive Buffet at The Orchard Cafe is the perfect place for you to indulge in a show-stopping feast consisting of all sorts of holiday carvings and free-flow delights. Christmas 2023 just got a whole lot better with the festive offerings from PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay, Singapore. Peppermint’s Yuletide Festive Feast is one of the holiday specials that you cannot miss.

From 24 Nov 2023 to 1 Jan 2024, Peppermint’s Chef de Cuisine, Leon Yee, and his culinary team will be presenting an unforgettable Christmas buffet that will be sure to delight you and your loved ones.

At the Yuletide Festive Feast, you’ll get to indulge in Peppermint’s finest offerings, including delectable free-flow roasted meats and incredible desserts. One of the stars of the feast is Peppermint’s signature Traditional Slow Roast Turkey with Pomegranate Molasses Glaze, served with Chestnut Stuffing, Giblet Gravy and Cranberry Compote. The Honey Baked Chicken Ham with Pineapple Sauce is another festive creation to savour.

The hotel’s renowned Lime Restaurant will be presenting exciting festive offerings, with its delicious Festive Buffet being a highlight that you can’t miss.

From 20 Nov 2023 to 30 Dec 2023, excluding 23 to 25 Dec, indulge in a huge assortment of premium dishes from all over the world, including food from Asian, Western and Peranakan cuisines. The Festive Buffet Dinner takes place from 6.30pm to 9.30pm, and costs S$118++ per pax. The unique Singapore-style Seafood “Otah” Mousse Stuffed Salmon Wellington is one of the Christmas-exclusives that you absolutely must try.

Highlights include free-flow tapas, Australian Wagyu Tomahawk, Crackling Porchetta with Truffle & Herb, Boston Lobster and Beer Braised Beef Brisket. To make things even more exciting, you can indulge in a whole Cochinillo Spanish Roast Suckling Pig, available exclusively on 24 and 31 Dec.

The Crackling Porchetta with Truffle & Herb was my favourite dish of the night, with its super addictive crunchy skin. I also adored how the Australian Wagyu Tomahawk was carved and grilled right in front of me by a chef.

There will also be Spanish desserts such as Turron de Jijona and Spanish Crema Catalana to satisfy your sweet tooth. How about some classic Christmas delights, like the Christmas Tree Croquembouche and Reindeer Chocolate-Coated Pretzel Rods?

To make things even better, the Festive Buffet Dinner has a gorgeous Pink Chocolate Fountain for you to dip sweet treats like churros, waffles, strawberries and wafer sticks into.

To round things up, take a sip of Verandah Pool Bar & Grill’s Canela Pasión de España Cocktail, a tantalising concoction made with house-made rosemary gin, orange liqueur, coconut rum and pineapple, vanilla, passionfruit and cinnamon.

From 26 Dec to 30 Dec 2023, enjoy the Festive Buffet Dinner at S$128++ on Tuesday to Thursday, or S$148++ from Friday to Sunday. Meanwhile, dinners on the special dates of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day cost S$168++ per pax.

On regular days, tuck into a wide variety of free-flow dishes, including Poached Tiger Prawn, Australian Black Mussel and Assorted Sushi & Maki. There are plenty of dishes on rotation for you to anticipate, such as Seafood Bouillabaisse, Glazed Honey Chicken Ham with Cranberry Sauce, Osso Buco and Seafood Paella. If you visit on a weekday, look forward to enjoying the Roast Beef Rib Eye. On the other hand, the Roasted Turkey with Coconut Crust and Roasted Herb Paste Tomahawk Steak with Mushroom Sauce will be waiting for you on weekends.

Dinners on the 4 special dates come with a slightly different menu, the most prominent being the Beef Wellington with Truffle Sauce and the Traditional Roast Turkey with Giblet Gravy and Cranberry Sauce. You won’t want to miss out on the Grilled Half Bamboo Lobster with Vermicelli and Asian Bouillabaisse Sauce either— this exclusive dish is limited to just 1 serving per pax.

15 Stamford Restaurant’s Christmas Set Dinner, available on 24 and 25 Dec 2023, is one of the options, costing S$188++ per pax. This 5-course dinner includes exciting dishes like Aka Ebi, Margret Duck Breast, Mangalitsa Pork Rib and 2GR Wagyu Beef Striploin.

If German food is more up your alley, why not head to Frieda Beer Garden & German Restaurant for their Three-Course Set Dinner (S$49++ per pax)? Begin your meal with the Smoked Fish Platter, then work your way through the Festive Meat Platter, containing a variety of ingredients like the Signature German Roasted Pork, Charred Salmon Steak and Thüringer Sausage. The Schokolandentarte (Dark Chocolate Tart) and Gebackerne Apfelringe (Apple Fritters) are choices for you to end your meal with.

Meanwhile, La Scala Ristorante has a similarly affordable Three-Course Festive Set Dinner at just S$49++ per pax, starring an Italian Cold Cuts Platter as the starter. Seafood lovers will definitely be delighted by the main course, which is the Festive Seafood Platter, loaded with jumbo prawns, sea bass, calamari, mussels, prawns and broccoli.

Finally, for a simple yet hearty American meal, drop by American Broadway Diner with your plus one for a Feast For Two (S$68++), where you and your partner can choose from a Buttermilk Chicken & Cheeseburger or a Black Angus Beef Cheeseburger with Fries, and enjoy 2 Chocolate Mint Milkshakes.

9. Lawry’s The Prime Rib Singapore

Craving some prime ribs for Christmas? Lawry’s The Prime Rib has got you covered. This magnificent Western restaurant overlooking Orchard Road will be presenting two 6-Course Christmas Set Menus on Christmas Eve (S$193++ per pax) and Christmas Day (S$173++ per pax) for you to celebrate the holidays in style.

We indulged the Christmas Eve menu, which will be available all day on 24 Dec 2023.

Whet your palate with Lawry’s Freshly Baked Assorted Soft Rolls before you tuck into their Salmon Gravlax with Cheese Crisps, served with Thai prawn mayonnaise, wasabi mayonnaise and mixed berries salsa, and the savoury Onion Consommé. Savour the Baked Jumbo Shrimp with Rosemary Duck Breast and cleanse your palate with the Lime Sorbet, before you move on to the star of the night— the entrée.

Select from 3 entrée choices, the Yuletide Tradition — Turkey Prime Combo, consisting of 80g of Lawry’s signature roasted USDA beef prime rib and 100g of sliced turkey, Festive Roasted Poultry with Foie Gras, or the Yuletide Seafood Medley.

My pick is definitely the Yuletide Tradition — Turkey Prime Combo. I loved how tender the prime rib was, while the mashed potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were excellent pairings with the meats. You can also pick from Creamed Corn, Creamed Spinach or Buttered Peas for your side.

Round it all up with either the Strawberry Peppermint Cake or the Almond Chocolate Cake— both were fluffy and soft, though the Strawberry Peppermint Cake had a more festive and unique flair to it.

Lawry’s will also offer a 6-Course Set Menu on Christmas Day itself for S$173++ per pax— aside from the Yuletide Tradition — Turkey Prime Combo and Lime Sorbet, all other dishes are different from the Christmas Eve menu, ensuring that you’ll get to enjoy some variety.

10. Alice Boulangerie 

You may be familiar with Alice Boulangerie‘s delectable pastries and bakes. Aside from enjoying some beautiful desserts at this restaurant bakery, in Christmas 2023, Alice Boulangerie will be presenting its enchanting 4 Course Dinner Menu from 23 Nov onwards.

The set dinner costs S$75++ for 1 pax and S$138++ for 2 pax, making it one of the more affordable Christmas dinners on the list.

Whet your appetite with a House-Baked Herb Bun served with Maple Bacon Butter, as well as the Smoked Duck Croquette, filled with smoked duck and cheddar.

Pick from either the Burrata Beetroot Salad or the Cioppino Stew for your appetiser, before you move on to one of the masterfully-executed mains. The MB9 Wagyu Flap (additional S$15) is a must-try, combining a succulent full-blood Wagyu steak with a marbling score of 9+ with beef jus, masked potatoes and other vegetables.

Alternatively, have the Duck Confit or the Chicken Roulade as your mains. For dessert, enjoy Alice Boulangerie’s Winter Acorn, a beautiful 3D acorn-shaped cake made with chantilly cream, cassis and lemon mousse, hazelnut dacquoise and blackcurrent compote.

11. Fire Restaurant

Enchant yourself at Fire Restaurant this Christmas 2023 with their exclusive 5-Course Christmas Dinner in the Clouds. The dinner, which will take place from 23 to 25 Dec, brings diners to the 55th floor of ION Orchard, with a beautiful view of the cityscape. A window seat will cost you S$208++ per pax, while a non-window seat comes in a little cheaper at S$178++ per pax.

Tuck into Fire Restaurant’s starters, like the Marinated Burrata, Tiger Prawn & Smoked Mud Crab Salad, as well as the “Picada Argentina”, made with smoked provoleta, truffle mousse, Wagyu pastrami and chorizo. Afterwards, indulge in the Asado Platter, a hefty protein platter containing grilled sustainable seabass, grilled grain-fed Argentinian ribeye and roasted Australian rack of lamb.

End your meal on a sweet note with the Valrhona Dark Chocolate Log Cake, infused with merlot.

Celebrate Christmas in 2023 with a traditional British feast at The English House by Marco Pierre White. The Festive Set Menu, consisting of 5 courses, will be available from 1 to 31 Dec with 3 different menus to choose from.

The English House’s S$108 menu presents diners with 4 options for their main dish— the Roast English Duck (Peking Style), Hogan’s Woodland Bronze Turkey (Free Range), Stoddart’s Scotch Fillet of Beef or Pan Seared Wild Cod. The S$88 menu, on the other hand, has 3 main options, namely being the Te Mana Roast Fillet of Lamb, Pork Belly with Crackling or the Grilled Scottish Salmon.

Both menus include 2 amuse-bouche dishes, a starter and either Christmas Pudding or Mr White’s Tiramisu for dessert.

Vegetarians can indulge at The English House too, as they also offer an S$88 vegetarian set menu!
