Chrissie Chau happy for the success of "29+1"

26 Apr – Although she didn't win Best Actress at the recently concluded Hong Kong film Awards, Chrissie Chau admitted that she is happy to just be nominated in the category.

As reported on Phoenix, the actress who spoke about the recent award, shared that she did expect that the movie will get nominated when she first received the script for "29+1", and continued to be confident about the project during the filming and the release of the movie.

"When I first saw the script, I realised that the director [Kearen Pang] is a really talented filmmaker, because it was originally a one-woman show that she did herself. The story resonated with me," she said.

"The only thing I didn't expect is that it would receive various nominations," she added.

What made her happiest was the fact that the whole team was recognised for the movie.

"We had various nominations, from best director to best actress, best music to best screenwriter. There was so many, I was so happy," she said.

As for losing the Best Actress award, which went to veteran star Teresa Mok, Chrissie said that she was already satisfied being shortlisted for the award.

"I always remind myself to be grateful. I hope that I can continue to maintain enthusiasm for this kind of performance," she said.
