Chris Wang apologises amid accusations of sexual harassments
20 Jun – Taiwanese actor Chris Wang Yu-Sheng recently surprised many by admitting to the sexual harassment accusations made by several women.
As reported on Mingpao, the actor took to social media to admit to his wrongdoing on 18 June, writing on Facebook, "I'm sorry for the damage and trauma caused by my actions. I am very, very sorry."
"I will not run away from the mistakes I have made. Again, I am truly sorry," he added.
Four women in total have now come forth, accusing Chris of behaving inappropriately, including a former employee of his production company who said that Chris tried to forcefully kiss and grope her at work and cornered her in a private space.
A victim told the media that after the apology statement, she received an apology message from Chris, who mentioned in the message that he was a victim of sexual assault himself and that he understood the feelings of anger and fear.
The victim stated that the two things have nothing to do with each other, adding, "You can't just act like this because of what you have been through, it's a bit of an explanation for the sake of explanation."
