Chris Rock To Direct 'Another Round' Remake With Leonardo DiCaprio Producing

Chris Rock is adding yet another film to his directing chops. This time, the multi-hyphenate is looking to develop and direct a remake of the 2020 Danish film, Another Round. Originally, the movie was a Thomas Vinterberg-directed black comedy that had won an Oscar for the Best International Feature Film.

The remake will be a project from Appian Way and a Makeready production for Fifth Season with Leonardo DiCaprio Jennifer Davisson, Brad Weston and Collin Creighton part of the team. The original film starred Mads Mikkelsen, Thomas Bo Larsen, Magnus Millang and Lars Ranthe who play four high school teachers that conduct an experiment to maintain a constant level of inebriation throughout their workday. They argue that a certain level of alcohol in their system boosts creativity and happiness.

Recently, Rock has been upping the ante on his directing resumé. He gained recognition for Top Five, which later captured the attention of Paramount Pictures. The studio bought the rights and made it the biggest deal at the 2014 Toronto Film Festival. He has also directed Head of State and I Think I Love My Wife. There is no release date just yet for the Danish remake.
