Marina Mandarin’s Café Mocha has rolled out a new Black Forest Yule Cake (S$65) with luscious chocolate mousse that’s nicely balanced with cherry compote, as well as an Almond Cream Cheese and Raspberry Bûche (S$65). Grab one of these cakes alongside a classic Chocolate Pecan Tart with Hazelnut Cream (S$45) for your Christmas celebration at home. Another Black Forest version is available at Fullerton Hotel. Order their signature Fullerton Black Forest Yule Log composed of rich Valrhona Guanaja mousse, Morello cherry compote, dark chocolate ganache and chocolate sponge. Or if you prefer local flavours, then pick up the Ondeh Ondeh Lamington Yule Log made with Gula Melaka mousse, coconut crème and shredded coconut layered between pandan chiffon sponge cake. Not keen on classic logcakes? Then this whimsical looking Buckwheat Milk Chocolate Christmas Cake (S$98) will standout on your Christmas table. The gluten-free treat, made with a sponge crafted from buckwheat flour, is topped with layers of tropical fruit compote (a combination of pineapple, lime, mango and passionfruit purees), calamansi milk chocolate mousse and a muscovado liquorice chocolate glaze. This treat features chocolate mousse, soft caramel and rich chocolate sponge atop a bed of hazelnut crunch, and is topped with coconut praline crémeux. Or choose the Chocolate Decadence (S$85), comprising rich chocolate sponge layered between chocolate buttercream and dark chocolate cream. Simple Indulgence Patisserie
Trying to avoid the shopping crowds this festive season? Why not go online and order a Low GI Flourless Dark Chocolate Log Cake (S$84), lovingly crafted by this small local patisserie. The gluten-free and low sugar creation is composed of flourless chocolate sponge with Valrhona dark chocolate ganache and shavings. Only top quality, natural ingredients are used for the cakes, including the Japanese Yuzu White Chocolate Log Cake (S$72). This popular patisserie has unveiled several delicious treats imported directly from Japan for this year-end celebration. All items are made with fresh natural ingredients sourced from around Japan. Pick up the Xmas Crispy Chocolate Cake (S$52), which is layered with chocolate cream, chocolate bar and cocoa sponge, and complete with white truffles and chunks of chocolate ganache. The Noel Blanc (S$48) logcake is made of fluffy sponge, coated with luscious whipped cream and caramel chocolate with cereal, and finally adorned with Belgian couverture (white chocolate). Similar to the Noel Blanc, the Buche de Noel (S$45) is a log cake that has fresh chocolate cream layered with airy chocolate sponge cake.
