Chinese bakery Sherry’s Cake relocates to Macpherson Mall, bringing taro floss cakes & mochi

If you’re a fan of the Chinese bakery Sherry’s Cake, you may have noticed that their iconic store in Bencoolen MRT Station has shuttered recently— not to worry, though, for they have relocated to Macpherson.

The new store is situated within Macpherson Mall, located nearest to Mattar MRT Station and Tai Seng MRT Station. The new space opened its doors to the public on 16 Dec 2023, according to a WeChat post by the business.

Compared to their previous location in Bencoolen, which merely functioned at a takeaway store, the new shop in Macpherson Mall boasts a bigger space and even a seating area for customers to dine-in.

Another key difference is that Sherry’s Cake now serves coffee, making it a great spot for those working in the area to grab a caffeinated drink in the morning. The bakery operates from 9am to 7pm daily, though those looking to pick up some cakes and desserts should only drop by after 12pm, as they’ll only be serving coffee in the morning.

Sherry’s Cake stands out as a bakery due to the fact that it offers pretty unique and unorthodox products made with popular ingredients like meat floss, taro, mochi and salted egg. I paid a visit to their original outlet at Bencoolen just a month ago, where I tried desserts like their Big Floss Mochi Cake 肉松麻薯大贝贝 (S$9) and Taro Salted Egg Explosion Floss Cake 岩烧金沙芋泥爆浆 (S$14).

Sherry’s Cake also has all sorts of other enticing desserts, including a White Rabbit Candy Swiss Roll (S$9), Soya Milk Cheesecake (S$6) and various Roll Cakes (S$12). Don’t miss out on their Salted Egg Pastries, which are filled with meat floss, a whole salted egg, mochi and an assortment of fillings, like Pineapple, Sweet Potato and Yam.

I can’t wait to pay a visit to the new store soon!
