You don’t need to arrange a lion dance for your gatherings— all you need is Peach Garden’s Flambé Collagen Yuzu Ingot Lion Dance Yu Sheng with Baby Abalone, Salmon and Golden Cup 招财元宝醒狮火焰美容养颜捞生.

This stunning yu sheng, which resembles an adorable 醒獅 aka lion dance, comes with yuzu collagen shaped like ingots that melt into the yu sheng when heated up. This one is certified to garner lots of “ooohs”!

What better way to celebrate the new year than to try new flavours? Peach Garden’s Premium Seafood Pen Cai with Laksa Broth 叻沙海鲜盆菜 comes with premium ingredients like Lobster, Red Grouper, Sea Cucumbers and Japanese Scallops, all of which are swimming in a luscious laksa broth. PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering must be one of my favourite places to celebrate the festivities. Not only is this unique hotel-in-a-garden incredibly gorgeous and eco-friendly, its buffet restaurant, Lime Restaurant, also offers a wide spread of delicious food prepared by an excellent team of chefs.

Be prepared to leap into the Year of the Rabbit with Lime Restaurant’s Feast of Fortune. This abundant buffet spread is filled with time-honoured and auspicious Asian dishes, such as the Hong Kong-Style “Bi Feng Tang” Wok-Fried Crab and Salt Baked Chicken. There’s also the ever-popular Seafood Bar, which boasts fresh prawns, black mussels and golden clams.

Probably my favourite part of the festive buffet is the chefs’ signature dishes that are prepared a la minute, including the Deep Fried Taro Pork Wrap, Truffle Siew Mai and Breaded Crab Claw.

From 21 to 24 Jan 2023, the extensive buffet will be expanded to include star-studded delights such as Buddha Jumps Over the Wall, Snow Crab Tower and even Roast Suckling Pig! Not to mention, a complimentary Prosperity Yu Sheng Platter will be given to parties of 4 persons or more from 21 to 24 Jan and 5 Feb, or for parties of 8 persons or more from 25 Jan to 4 Feb.

For those who are celebrating Chinese New Year at home, let Neo Garden take care of your feast. Founded in 1992, Neo Garden broke through to become Singapore’s top events caterer by 2011, so you can be assured that they’ve perfected the act of catering home-cooked food down to a tee.

5. Seorae Korean Charcoal BBQ

Korean BBQ has always been about the communal experience. Being able to bond with friends and family over grilled meats and a charcoal stove has always been a delight, and as an avid KBBQ fan myself, I can think of no better way to reunite with my loved ones this Chinese New year than at Seorae Korean Charcoal BBQ.

This famed and well-loved Korean BBQ restaurant is the first to offer galmaegisal in Singapore. Also known as “skirt meat”, this prized cut is said to have the perfect combination of tenderness and juiciness, with minimal amount of fat. In fact, it was so rare that it was originally reserved for monarchy in Korea!

This Lunar New Year, Seorae Korean Charcoal BBQ will be offering Seorae! CNY Huat Platter (from S$68). This platter comes with 800g of meat, comprising a variety of cuts such as galmaegisal and chicken in both original and garlic flavours, pabulgogi (marinated sliced meat with spring onions), moksal (pork collar) and samgyeobsal (pork belly).

6. The Orchard Hotel Singapore

This auspicious season, hop to Michelin-selected Hua Ting Restaurant for its exquisite Lunar New Year Set Menus!

Located within The Orchard Hotel Singapore, these set menus are a lavish affair, starting with the legendary Buddha Jumps Over The Wall with Bird’s Nest and Scallop with Prawn Paste and Suckling Pig in Fermented Bean Paste, and are followed by chef-curated dishes such as Braised 22-head Dried Abalone with Japanese Sea Cucumber and Baked Tiger Prawn with Sea Urchin Sauce.

Award-winning Executive Chinese Chef Edward Chong and his culinary team at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay, Singapore’s Peach Blossoms have curated an exquisite array of new signatures to usher in the Year of the Rabbit.

Taking centre stage is Peach Blossoms’ new Harvest Yu Sheng (from S$138++), where guests are invited to smash a nitrogen-infused rose into a mountain of kanpachi, abalone, crispy whitebait and organic mixed fruits. There are 4 other yu sheng options, such as the Fortune Abalone Yu Sheng (from S$128++) and Vegetarian Abalone Yu Sheng (from S$78++). Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre’s halal-certified international restaurant, Window on the Park, is celebrating the auspicious season with a bountiful buffet line from 3 Jan to 9 Feb 2023. This reunion buffet includes all your favourite Chinese New Year dishes, ranging from Stir-fried Nian Gai with Hong Kong Kailan and Garlic and Taiwanese Longevity Mee Sia with Oyster. InterContinental Singapore’s Lunar New Year offerings from Michelin-recommended Man Fu Yuan are back this year from 3 Jan to 5 Feb 2023, and let me tell you, they’re bigger than ever.

The biggest highlight (pun intended) is the whopping 60-inch ‘Prosperity Rabbit’ Yusheng (S$588++). Shaped into the Chinese character, 兔, this massive yusheng features plenty of luxurious ingredients such as mini abalone, lobster, sea urchin, ikura, dried shredded Hokkaido scallops, salmon and crispy fish skin. Good luck trying to find these goodies in this larger-than-life yusheng, though!

Man Fu Yuan will also offer 7 different prix-fixe menus that cater to all party sizes. One to try is the Blissfulness Prix-Fixe Menu (S$798++ for 5 guests), which is a 5-course menu including Man Fu Yuan’s signature Abundance Treasure Pot, a brimming pen cai with over 18 premium ingredients.

Alternatively, another option is Man Fu Yuan’s Reunion Prix-Fixe Menu (S$358++ per guest, min. 2 pax to dine). This extravagant feast features pan-seared A5 wagyu beef, premium seafood bisque with braised crab meat, braised South Africa 3-head abalone and more.

Perennial à la carte favourites such as the Roasted Suckling Pig with Five Grain Glutinous Rice (S$488++) and Signature Smoked Duck with Long Jing Tea Leaves and Truffle Sauce Roast Platter (S$108++ for whole duck) are also available.

Nestled away from the bustle of the city is Sofitel Sentosa Singapore Resort & Spa. This Bali-esque idyllic hotel, hidden at the southernmost tip of Sentosa island, is where you’d head to when you’re looking to retreat, recharge and rewind. It’s also the only place in Sentosa to offer a free-flow charcoal steamboat buffet! 

From 14 to 29 Jan 2023, head to Kwee Zeen (a playful pun on ‘cuisine’) this Lunar New Year for a lavish Infinite Reunions Steamboat spread, with over 60 selections of the freshest produce and Kwee Zeen’s signature buffet delights. Broth choices range from the spice-inducing Mala to the flavourful Chinese herbal, and limitless meat and seafood cuts await. It also has a D.I.Y. Yu Sheng Station, so be sure to get excited for that!

LeBar, the hotel’s lavish outdoor bar, will also be hosting a Lunar New Year High Tea should you prefer to reunite with loved ones over tipples and a delectable selection of savouries and sweets instead.

Sofitel Sentosa will also be offering its all-time classic Yu Sheng as part of its Infinite Reunions Takeaways so that you can enjoy a cosy reunion dinner at home with family and friends.

Adding a modern twist to the traditional yusheng is Collective’s Joyous Yusheng, which comes with puffed wild rice, kale, smoked salmon and baby abalones. The kale adds a strong earthy flavour to the whole dish, while the puffed wild rice is uniquely crunchy.

For their main courses, diners can choose between the Norwegian Salmon or Chicken Stuffed with Bak Kwa Farce. Be sure to save room for the refreshing dessert— the Longan Almond Jelly with Fresh Strawberries.

Helmed by Hong Kong born Executive Chef Fung Chi Keung, Kai Garden is one of Singapore’s leading Cantonese fine dining restaurants. Located in Marina Square, the restaurant offers an elegant and classy dining experience.

This coming Chinese New Year, treat yourself and your loved ones to a spread of Chinese-Cantonese set meals, starting from S$138++ per pax.

The Harmony set comes with seven dishes, including Prosperity Smoked Salmon Yu Sheng with Olive Oil, Double-boiled Abalone Soup with Mirror Fish and Chicken and Wok-fried Glutinous Rice with Waxed Meat and Mushroom in Black Truffle. The Harmony set costs S$138++ per pax and requires a minimum of just two persons, perfect for a more intimate dinner.

First Culinary Restaurant will be offering 7 different set menus this Chinese New Year. From 6 Jan to 5 Feb 2023, enjoy a delectable festive meal starting from just S$68++ per pax.

For smaller groups, their 3 CNY Set Menus come with 6 dishes each and range from S$68++ to S$138++ per pax. Look forward to dishes like Abalone Prosperity Lo Hei, Deep-fried Bean Curd with Meat Floss and Steamed Cod Fish with Black Garlic.

Bigger groups can opt for one of their Reunion Set Menus, which serves 10 pax. The most expensive option, Reunion Set Menu C ($1,888++ for 10 pax), consists of dishes like Lobster and Abalone Prosperity Lo Hei, Braised Supreme Shark’s Fin with Conpoy and Roasted Suckling Pig.

Established in 1963, Lai Wah Restaurant is credited as the restaurant that invented the modern-day method of serving yu sheng. This history-rich restaurant’s Chinese New Year menus will be available from 7 Jan to 5 Feb 2023.

Their Set Menu for 5 Persons (S$348++) comes with 8 dishes, like the Yu Sheng CNY Delicacy, Sharks’ Fins with Crab Meat, Crispy Roasted Chicken (half) and Steamed (Teo Chew Style) Red Garoupa Fish.

Meanwhile, the Set Menu for 10 Persons (S$648++) consists of the same dishes as the Set Menu for 5 Persons, except it also includes Kyoto Pork Chops with Delicious Sauce.

Diners can also opt to add on a Yam Pot with Prawns and Cashew Nuts for S$32++, or Rice with Chinese Cured Meat wrapped in Lotus Leaf for S$25++.

Northies, here’s a spot for your Chinese New Year feastings: Orchid Live Seafood is a restaurant conveniently located in HomeTeamNS Khatib near Khatib MRT Station. Their Chinese New Year Reunion Feast menu will be available on 20 Jan at 7pm and 21 Jan at 5.30pm and 8pm.

The Indulge menu for 4pax costs S$428++ and comes with 6 dishes — the most exciting ones are the Prosperous Abalone Yu Sheng, Furong Steamed Southern Australian Lobster and H.K. Steamed Live Soon Hock with Superior Soya Sauce.

17. Spring Court

Spring Court is a 4-storey heritage shophouse located conveniently next to Chinatown MRT. Opened in 1929, the restaurant has been in operation for over 90 years.

Spring Court’s Chinese New Year set menus are catered towards groups of 10, with 4 different menus to choose from.

All 4 set menus come with a Lucky Salmon Yusheng, but offer different dishes. The A Set Menu (S$788++ for 10 pax) is the cheapest option, where you can look forward to dishes such as Braised Noodle with Shredded Chicken and Mushroom in Abalone Gravy and Roasted Whole Crispy Chicken.

On the other hand, the most expensive D Set Menu (S$1,338++ for 10 pax) offers Roasted Whole Boneless Suckling Pig, Stewed Live Lobster with Superior Stock and Steamed Whole Live Garoupa Fish.

Looking for the best Hokkien and Cantonese cuisine? Check out Gim Tim, which has been in operation since 1975. This Chinese New Year, Gim TIm will be offering a whopping 17 different set menus, with some being available during different time periods: Company (1 Jan to 19 Jan 2023), Reunion (20 Jan to 21 Jan 2023) and New Year (23 Jan to 5 Feb 2023).

Early feasters can select from the 6 menus under Company. The extravagant CNY Set F (S$1,388++ for 10 pax) is a sumptuous set containing Prosperity Lo Hei with Smoked Salmon and Abalone, Charcoal Barbecued Suckling Pig, Stewed Vermicelli with Crab Meat and Egg Yolk and more. Alternatively, the Reunion E Set Menu (S$1,388++ for 10 pax) will be available on 20 Jan and 21 Jan 2023, with Steamed Coral Trout in HK Style and Stewed Ee-Fu Noodles with Conpoy.

19. Qian Xi Group

To ring in the New Year, Qian Xi Group’s 8 restaurants will be offering Chinese New Year reunion dinner sets. Located all around the country, Qian Xi Group’s set menus are very accessible.

Set A (S$608++ for 6 pax) and Set B (S$828++ for 10 pax) both offer a Combo Lucky Yu Sheng, Braised Shark’s Fin Soup with Crab Meat, Crispy Roasted Chicken, Braised Whole Abalone and more. 

Meanwhile, Set C (S$958++ for 10 pax) and Set D (S$1,398++ for 10 pax) both come with Trio Lucky Yu Sheng. Set D comes with a Crispy Roasted Suckling Pig and Steamed Red Garoupa HK Style, adding to its extravagance.

20. Xi Yan Maxwell

On Chinese New Year Eve, Xi Yan’s Maxwell outlet will be offering Chinese New Year set menus for you to feast with your family. There are 2 seatings: The first is from 5pm to 7.30pm, while the second is from 8pm to 10.30pm.

The Lunar New Year Good Luck 7 Course Menu costs S$98++ per pax, and has a 2 pax minimum requirement. Dig into the Xi Yan 3 Treasures Signature Prosperity Yu Sheng, which comes loaded with salmon, maguro, mekajiki sashimi and ikura. The mains include Steamed Cordyceps Stuffed Morel on Minced Pork Patty and Salmon Roe Diced Garlic Prawns Fried Rice. 

Go all out with the Treasure and Health 8 Course Lunar New Year Menu at S$238++ per pax with a minimum of four diners. In this set, you’ll get to enjoy dishes like Double Happiness Abalo-nelly, which is abalone with pork belly, Osmanthus Spice Garden Fish, Sea Food Treasure Pot 88, containing mini abalone, sea whelk, scallop, fish maw, prawn, mushroom, roast pork, quail egg and pak choy, and Crab Stir Fried with Bee Hoon in Thai Style with Whole Crab & Shredded Crab Meat.

21. The Restaurant @ SPGG

The Restaurant @ SPCC will be offering 2 feasts this coming Chinese New Year. From 14 Jan to 20 Jan 2023 and 24 Jan to 5 Feb 2023, choose from two of their Chinese New Year Set Menus, suitable for either 6 pax or 10 pax.

The Prosperous set menu costs S$298++ and serves 6 pax. Dishes from its 7 courses include Ginseng with Black Chicken Herbal Soup and Steamed Seabass with Shimeiji Mushroom in Light Soy Sauce.
