Cheung Kwok Keung accompanied Ha Ping to the end

21 Aug – Hong Kong actor Cheung Kwok Keung revealed that he was one of the few who were able to stay by veteran actress Ha Ping's side prior to her passing.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who attended the funeral service for the said actress recently, stated that he was able to bid her farewell alongside her godson Gordon Lam and several other people from showbiz.

"Everybody felt comforted to see her passing away peacefully," he said.

Cheung also admitted that they were all encouraging Ha to stay and wait for Gordon to come back to Hong Kong back when her condition turned dire and the actor was in mainland China for work.

"She persevered and was able to see Gordon in the end. She passed away the next morning. You could see how persistent and determined she was from that," he said.

Asked if he has any great memories of Ha, Cheung said that there were many of them as they have worked together.

"We often chat and joke around. She was very funny and interesting, and very direct. She was quite a role model for everyone," he said.

Ha Ping passed away on 5 August due to complications with diabetes and hypertension. She was 81.
