Cherrie Ying happy to reunite with Louis Koo
29 Jun – The chance to work with Louis Koo again was one of the reasons why Cherrie Ying decided to accept the offer to play a role in the new movie, "The White Storm 2 - Drug Lords".
As reported on Singtao Daily, the actress, who rarely filmed a movie for the past few years, shared that it has been a while since they worked together, and that she wanted to know how it feels like to work with Louis now that he is a Hong Kong Best Actor winner.
"His entire being is now shining. On the day of the shoot, I could already sense his brilliance from far away," she joked.
Louis chimed in, saying that it has been a while since the two worked together. The two stars have collaborated in many movies throughout the noughties including "Why Me, Sweetie?!" (2003) and "Poker King" (2009).
"We had great chemistry. She has always been a good co-star. Since we haven't seen each other for a long time, this is a good opportunity to catch up," he said.
In addition to working with Louis again, Cherrie said that she was interested in her role as a drug dealer who also operates a night spot.
"I have always wanted to play "mamasan", and this character feels similar," she said.
