Chen Kun shunned by Zhao Wei's friends

27 May – Following initial reports of the fall-out between long-time friends, Chen Kun and Zhao Wei, the latter's celebrity friends solidified the rumours by removing the actor from their Weibo.

As reported on Groove Asia, last week, netizens were quick to realise that friends of the "So Young" director, including pop diva Faye Wong no longer followed Chen Kun's Weibo.

The actor had also deleted his past post whereby he thanked Vicki for supporting his movie, "Let The Bullets Fly", after a person, believed to be Vicki's brother, commented on the post, saying, "Zhao Wei doesn't need a friend like you."

The relationship between the two stars was previously rumoured to have soured ever since the feud that was reported to have happened between Zhao Wei and her "Painted Skin: The Resurrection" co-star, Zhou Xun, who also happens to be Chen Kun's good friend. The actor was also noticeably absent from showing his support for Zhao's directorial debut that premiered last month, triggering speculations that he has chosen Zhou Xun over Zhao Wei.

His manager initially tried to dismiss the rumour by emphasising that the actor personally bought tickets to catch the film. However, at the Cannes Film Festival recently, the latter insinuated that he had not actually done so.

Despite denying that he is on bad terms with the actress-turned-director, Chen Kun was slammed by fans for the contradictory statements made by him and his manager.
