Chen Jianbin is Golden Horse's biggest individual winner

24 Nov – Chinese actor Chen Jianbin became the biggest individual winner at the 51st Golden Horse Awards recently, winning three awards, including Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor.

As reported on CRI News, the 44-year-old Chinese star, who wrote, directed, and starred in the film "A Fool", won Best New Director and Best Actor for his work in the movie, also winning the supporting award for his performance in Doze Niu's "Paradise in Service".

The actor, who is more famous on this side of the globe for his role as the Emperor Yong Zheng in the hit mainland period drama "The Legend of Zhen Huan", thanked his alma mater Central Drama Academy as well as his teachers for shaping him into a fine actor.

His wife, Jian Qinqin, also expressed her happiness with Chen's victory at the awards, saying that she will forever associate Taiwan with all the good things that happened for the rest of her life.

"A Fool" tells the story of a Chinese farmer who befriends a homeless man.

However, mainland film "Blind Massage" became the biggest winner of the night, winning six accolades including Best Feature Film, Best New Performer, Best Cinematography, and Best Adapted Screenplay.
