Chartreuse Is an Early Contender for 'It' Color of Fall 2024

With a focus on timelessness over trends, the Fall 2024 collections in New York have favored more muted palettes, with lots of navies and browns, but a vibrant, unexpected hue has popped on the runway — and given us an early contender for the season's breakout color trend.

Chartreuse is already emerging as the statement shade of Fall 2024, at least at New York Fashion Week. Lapointe fully embraced the greenish yellow color with its sheer flowing gowns and matching mini backpacks. Collina Strada incorporated it into its floral prints with touches of pink, while Son Jung Wan went bold with it in sequined pants and high-neck dresses. 2024 LVMH Prize Semi-Finalist Agbobly, meanwhile, used chartreuse freely in its latest collection, as seen in a brightly patterned trench coat, an oversized knit sweater and an impeccably tailored dress.
