Charmaine Sheh takes a break from playing domineering characters

27 May – After successfully playing the role of a strong career woman in TVB's "The Queen of News", Charmaine Sheh recently revealed that she will not take any offer to play a similar character for the time being.

As reported on Oriental Daily, the actress, who was interviewed by a Chinese media, said that playing a domineering woman meant that she has to make a lot of transformations, and that there are only so many ways before it would get repetitive.

"You can change your hairstyle, change your clothes, change the background, but it's hard to change 180 degrees. It will be difficult to give the audience a completely new feeling, so you might as well take a break [from such a role] and do something else," she said.

In her new drama, "The Heir to the Throne", Charmaine plays an acting chairperson of a shopping mall business after her grandfather falls into a coma. It co-stars Raymond Lam, Him Law, Benz Hui, Raymond Wong, and Dada Chen among others.
