Charmaine Sheh defends Wu Jinyan's performance in new drama
31 Jan – Charmaine Sheh recently defended her "Story of Yanxi Palace" co-star Wu Jinyan, after netizens made fun of the latter's performance in her new drama, "The Legend of Haolan".
As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who attended an event at Studio City Macau recently, stated that Wu is just a young actress who is still developing her craft. Charmaine recalled filming the 2018 drama, saying that Wu would always listen to other people's opinion whenever they would gather and discuss the script.
"She has made a good effort, and had a big progress [in her performance]. But [as an actor], we also will listen to constructive criticism," she said.
The actress also expressed hope that people will give her former co-star time and space to develop herself.
"I was a newcomer myself, so I understand that you need time to accumulate acting experiences," she added.
