I remember my first pair of Mary-Janes; they hurt so bad but they looked so cute when I wore them in my college days.
So it was quite a nice surprise to see shoe brand Charles & Keith partnering with ‘IT’ Danish designer Cecilie Bahnsen, on a footwear collection inspired by traditional school wear.
Available now, the collaboration features four styles, three Mary Jane designs and a distinctive mule. You can spot Cecilie’s signature couture-like touch, as the collection features hand-drawn quilted embroidery and unique patchwork.
The shoes are sustainably made from a combination of recycled satin and leftover fabrics from Cecilie Bahnsen’s previous collections, giving them a new life.
This is the brand’s very first collaboration with an international designer, and the collection is priced between $379 to $529, and will be available online at ceciliebahnsen.com and charleskeith.com.
