Charlene Choi wins Best Actress at Macau festival
24 Dec – Charlene Choi has recently been named Best Actress at the 2019 Macau International Movie Festival.
As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who attended the event alongside actor Simon Yam, won for her performance in the movie "The Lady Improper" as well as her TV series, "PTU".
Meanwhile, Simon won Best Supporting Actor for his role in "The Thunder".
Speaking to the media at the event, Charlene said that she always regarded Macau as a blessing, as her grandparents lived in the city for a long time.
"Every time I come here, whether to perform or to attend an awards ceremony, I feel like my grandparents are watching and guarding me from the sky. Winning this award is really meaningful," she said.
Charlene added that she has been blessed with many challenging and interesting movie roles in recent years and will continue to work hard.
She also took to social media to share news of her win with fans, writing, "Grateful".
