Chang Hsiao-yen heartbroken over protege Mickey Huang's latest scandal
16 Apr - Veteran Taiwanese TV personality Chang Hsiao-yen recently dismissed the idea that she was unaffected by the controversy surrounding her protege Mickey Huang, who was recently found to possess child pornography.
As reported on SETN, despite reassurance from good friend Kao Ai-lun to the media that Chang is doing fine, Chang herself rebutted this in a text message sent to Kao, saying that she was quite shocked by what had happened.
Stressing that she was unscathed but heartbroken, Chang expressed, "I have always had self-discipline and self-respect. I never thought that I would be involved in this kind of thing."
"I really can't even lift my head. I have never been so afraid of meeting people in my life," she added.
Chang, who is also the mentor of Pu Hsueh-liang and Bowie Tsang, also said that the incident greatly impacted her and that she never knew that her own protege would have such a behaviour.
"I feel sorry for [Mickey's wife] Summer Meng. If I had known earlier, I would never have let her marry him!" she added.
It is noted that Mickey made headlines yet again after the police found that he had been purchasing illegal videos of hardcore pornography involving minors. The last video was even purchased while he was involved in a MeToo scandal back in June 2023.
