SINGAPORE — Celebrity couple Joanne Peh and Qi Yuwu are no strangers to our screens; the actors recently took some time off their busy schedules to lend a hand in the re-opening of Watsons premium store concept at Takashimaya on 20 June.
The refreshed 7,000 sq. ft. store features distinct zones encompassing skincare, hair care, health and personal care. New brands that are exclusive to Watsons are Milani Cosmetics, Pony Effect and Utena. Store-in-store concepts that customers can look out for are alice+olivia Maybelline collection, L’ORÉAL Paris, Peripera, Dr. Wu, Eau Thermale Avène, La Roche-Posay and Blackmores.
When Yahoo Lifestyle Singapore sat down with Joanne and Qi, the actress shared with us her latest project, which revolves around a period drama series set in the 1930s. It follows the life of a madame, played by Joanne, that required her to be both emotionally and physically strong: “I’m playing in a Toggle series called ‘The Last Madame’ and I play the last Madame. It’s about this young lady who inherited a shophouse, and as she is preparing to sell the shophouse, she uncovers a lot of secrets about her late great-grandmother, who is played by me, and what this shophouse is all about. It goes back into the history in the 1930s, where the shophouse was the House of Phoenix, which was the most famous brothel at that time. So yes, I play the head of the brothel.”
When Joanne is not busy acting, the Anessa spokesperson busies herself by planning family travel trips, and is hoping to head to Bora Bora because her daughter loves the animated-musical film, Moana.
