Cecilia Choi doesn't dare to dream of winning HKFA Best Actress

5 May – Although she has previously proved her worth by winning Best Actress at the 26th Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards for her role in "Beyond the Dream", Cecilia Choi recently admitted that she wouldn't dare to dream of winning it again at the Hong Kong Film Awards.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress who spoke about the upcoming results, which will be announced on 6 May, shared that being nominated as a newcomer was already a bonus.

"I am already very happy to receive the recognition. I like to perform and enjoy doing it. I don't make movies to win awards," she said.

When asked what was the biggest challenge in filming the said movie, Cecilia - who described herself as a shy Christian - admitted that doing the bed scene was tough for her.

"But as an actor, I have to be professional when dealing with this matter. I have to overcome this obstacle," she said.

The actress stated that the director was very respectful towards the actors involved, and would discuss the scene very clearly with her and co-star Lau Chun Him.

"We were able to come to a clear conclusion when it comes to what the director wanted and to what extent that I am comfortable with doing things, so it was easier for me," she said.

However, Cecilia stated that that would be the furthest she would go when it comes to acting as to not affect her family's feelings.

The actress is competing with Zhou Dongyu ("Better Days"), Sammi Cheng ("Fagara", "Fatal Visit"), and Stephy Tang ("My Prince Edward").
