Catriona Gray wants Vickie Rushton to compete in pageants again
17 Jun – Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray is hopeful that her colleague Vickie Rushton would compete again in future pageants.
As reported on PEP, the beauty queen, who spoke about the misfortune befalling Rushton - who didn't win any crown at the previous event following a less-than-stellar Q&A session, said that she was actually rooting for her.
"I am close to [Vickie]. She is my first runner-up from my batch and I think she did amazingly even though the thing in Q&A happened," she said.
Gray also stated that she understands Rushton's situation, saying that a beauty pageant is a high-nerves environment.
"If it's your time, it's your time. Who knows? She might make a comeback. I would totally root for her if she was planning to join again," she said.
Gray is the second beauty queen to defend Rushton over her previous loss. In a previous Instagram post, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach also expressed hope for Rushton to try again.
"I believe this girl is smart. Nerves can happen to even the best of us," she said.
