Catriona Gray denies issue at Bb Pilipinas 2022
3 Aug - Catriona Gray has recently responded to speculations about the Binibining Pilipinas 2022 results, which stemmed from some questioning the delay prior to the announcement of winners.
It is noted that during the event, speculations arose that there could have been a mistake in announcing the winners, as there were several minutes of interlude before the announcement was made.
Netizens also began sharing photos of hosts Catriona Gray and Nicole Cordoves conversing with officials, while some of the candidates appeared confused by the delay.
In response to the speculation, Catriona took to social media to address the issue, writing, "About last night... As the hosts of last night's Binibining Pilipinas 2022, [Nicole Cordoves] and I announced the winners accordingly based on the titles printed on the individual title cards as these were handed over by SGV & Co. partner and representative, Mr. Ocho."
"As a member of the overseeing committee during the deliberations (as pictured on slide 4 by BPCI Execom member @laraquigaman), Mr. Ocho later rechecked the cards and confirmed that the results previously announced were correct, which became the decisive factor in moving forward with the announcement," she added.
Catriona stated that as former candidates themselves, she and Nicole understand what the girls go through and therefore would correct any errors without a second thought.
"But as already explained, SGV & Co. partner and representative Mr. Ocho himself confirmed the validity of the results. Let's celebrate our Queens who are wearing their rightful crowns," she added.
