A hilarious video of a cat as ring bearer in his owners' wedding has made the rounds on social media.

The video, posted on Instagram by a user who goes by @dr.alpine, showed the white kitty being wheeled down the aisle on a toy car.

The cat seemed to enjoy his role too as he confidently travelled down the red carpet, and attendees couldn't contain their giggles.

“Everyone was laughing so hard when I came out. I did so good! The best ring bear ever,” @dr.alpine wrote in the caption of the video.

The video has since been viewed more than 12 million times, and it's not slowing down anytime soon.

‘How cute!’

Many users have expressed how much they love the video, with one saying that there must already be a way for pets to be included in the entourage of a wedding, as we know how big an impact a pet can have on couples.

“We’re trying to find a way to incorporate our cats into the wedding … this is the dream. The reality is getting cake toppers because they’re scaredy cats,” the user said.

“It’s past midnight, my boyfriend is snoring next to me, and I’m sitting here absolutely dying at this video,” another said, accompanied by laughter emoji. “This quite literally is the greatest thing I have ever seen.”

Others are also tagging their partners and fiancés, hinting on how they want their own future wedding ceremony to be.

Animal abuse?

However, some users expressed concern over the cat's well-being, with one user saying, “Please, by all means don’t make your cat do that for your own amusement. They get super stressed and don’t enjoy it at all. This cat seems to be used to being in open spaces, but most cats aren’t,” one user said.

One user cautioned against involving cats in public events because most of them are reclusive by nature.

“Stressful for a cat and he looks unhappy,” one user said.
