Cartoon Network calls time on 'Adventure Time'

The Cartoon Network has announced that the ninth season of "Adventure Time" will be its last reports Deadline.

The popular cartoon, which follows the post-apocalyptic adventures of best friends Finn the Human (Jeremy Shada) and Jake the Dog (John DiMaggio), will continue to be shown on the Cartoon Network over the next two years, including specials, mini-series, and the ninth and final season.

Since making its debut in 2010, the show has become a cult hit with both children and adults, attracting celebrity guest stars such as Andy Samberg, Matthew Broderick, George Takei, and Neil Patrick Harris and winning six Emmys and two BAFTAs.
