Carina Zhang's parents were initially against Raymond Lam

15 Apr – Mainland model Carina Zhang, who is now happily married to actor Raymond Lam, recently admitted that her parents were not very keen on her marrying the actor at first.

As reported on Skypost, the model, who appeared alongside Raymond on the new season of the mainland marriage-themed reality show, "Viva La Romance", revealed that particular detail following Raymond's admission that he was the one who pursued Carina in the first place.

"My wife's close friend liked my work so much that I invited them to dinner. At the time, I thought this girl (Carina) was very loyal to accompany her friend," he said about their first meeting.

Asked if he took the opportunity to pursue Carina, Raymond responded, "Of course I did."

It is noted that Raymond was caught on a date with the mainland model back in 2018, a few months after confirming his breakup with actress Karena Ng.

Carina then revealed that her parents were initially not very happy with the relationship due to Raymond's celebrity status, but it all changed after the actor came to visit her and brought breakfast for her mother while the latter was feeling unwell.

"My mother only ate a little and put it down, but then he went and ate the rest. Seeing that, she thought that this guy was very sincere and did not avoid the food that she had eaten. He also fed her and showed how much he could care for his elders, so it really melted her heart," she said.

On the other hand, when asked why they decided to join the reality show, Raymond said that he wanted to show how great Carina is as his wife.
