Carina Lau adjusting to filming reality show

14 Jul - Filming the first episode of the reality show, "Up Idol" (renamed "We Are Here" in the second season), was a challenge for reality show rookie Carina Lau, as she admitted recently.

According to Epoch Times, the award-winning actress, who accepted the offer to join the programme alongside other female celebrities, including Karen Mok and Angie Chiu, stated that she nearly collapsed after the first day.

"I had to box, and I had to bungee jump. It was very difficult for me. But after working hard and adjusting myself to the environment, I came to enjoy the process," she enthused.

The actress expressed hope that fans will be able to see the real Carina Lau through the show, instead of what they always read on the internet.

When asked why she decided to do the programme, Carina said that aside from getting the positive response from season one star Brigitte Lin, she had also watched the last season, and liked the show's many cultural elements and its ability to embody women's elegance.

She also expressed delight that the programme filmed the first episode in her hometown Suzhou.

"I have only heard about Suzhou's crafts, embroideries, Kunqu Opera, and its many rich cultural heritages as a child. But now, I am able to experience it all with the other members," she enthused.
