Carey Mulligan Wore Nothing Underneath Her Plunging White Blazer But a Big Diamond Necklace

Last night, Chanel opened its new boutique on New York's Fifth Avenue, and the launch party brought out all the celebrities — including Katie Holmes, Elizabeth Olsen, Kerry Washington, and of course, the ever-stylish Carey Mulligan.

In honor of Wednesday evening's opening, the Oscar-winning actress put a sexy spin on sophisticated suiting, pairing her plunging white blazer with matching loose trousers that offered a tiny peek at her black-and-white slingback pumps underneath. She went topless (and braless) below her suit jacket, and in lieu of a shirt, she accessorized with a long sparkly diamond pendant instead.

Carey finished off her look with more diamond jewelry and a black clutch, while her chin-length blonde hair was styled in polished waves with a middle part and the rest of her glam included a dark pink lip and dewy skin.

Mulligan's outing comes amidst award season, during which she's been recognized for her role as Felicia Montealegre in Maestro. While she didn't nab a Golden Globe for her performance, there's still a chance that she could take home the Academy Award for Best Actress. Speaking about being nominated, Mulligan said it's "just the coolest thing" during a recent interview with The Times. "Because it’s from your peers. It’s wicked," she continued, "And the thousands (literally) of actors that I’ve met who say that awards don’t matter and that it’s the work that counts? They are 100 percent lying.”

China anchors 'monster ship' in South China Sea, Philippine coast guard says
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said on Saturday that China's largest coastguard vessel has anchored in Manila's exclusive economic zone (EEZ) in the South China Sea, and is meant to intimidate its smaller Asian neighbour.
