Cardi B’s 'liquid waves' hairstyle is giving peak burlesque glamour
Three days ago marked the monumental, world-renowned, needed-to-be-known-about occasion that was Ms Cardi B's birthday. Now, as jealous as I was to not receive my coveted invite (it must have got lost in the post – airmail 'n' all), I as well as 142 million of Cardi's Instagram followers were eagerly waiting to watch the event unfold through the wonderful power of social media. And boy did Twitter come through...
As interesting as all of the BTS vids were, what sparked our interests more were the beautiful IG pics Cardi posted after the fact. In total, she provided 10 snaps over two carousel posts and the glam beauty look as well as the 'fits did not disappoint.
For context, the theme of her 30th birthday bash was burlesque and she, of course, nailed it with her very vintage-looking liquid waves. In the first post shown below, she's giving OTT fiery red, as one would for such an extravaganza.
Unfortunately, due to these pics being shot on a black background, as well as the feathered headpiece she wears, we cannot see the waves in all their luscious glory. However, luckily for us, Cardi pulled through with an outfit change that she debuted in the second of the two posts.
As we can see, the curly 'do is so glossy that it almost looks wet – but in the chicest tamed way. Falling perfectly at chest length, her locks have been styled in a very on-trend side part.
Oh, and if manis are your thing, just scroll through to see her extraaa long silver claws. I can't imagine they would be practical, but they sure do look fire.
I guess if you're still stuck for a Halloween look, why not just piggyback off Cardi's idea and go as a burlesque dancer?
