Many celebrities had weird jobs before they made it big. Brad Pitt used to wear a chicken costume outside of a restaurant and Emma Stone worked at a dog treat bakery. It’s what you have to do in order to make it. No one is above this rule — not even Heisenberg himself, Bryan Cranston, star of Breaking Bad, Malcolm in the Middle, and so many more amazing TV shows and movies.

During a recent interview on The Graham Norton Show, Bryan Cranston revealed that he used to work for a video dating company. For those who are not in the know — video dating was the Tinder of the pre-internet age.

It worked like this: A person would walk into an office and record a short video profile that would show their personality in hopes of scoring a date. Folks with subscriptions would receive tapes filled with profiles and get connected with those who they liked best. It’s much slower than the newer apps we are used to, but just as effective. Apparently, the actor responsible for bringing us Walter White on Breaking Bad could also get people to come out of their shells on camera.

He would tell jokes to people who just seemed to be trying too hard and got them to be more authentic. It’s hard to say how many couples owe their romantic lives to Bryan, but it sure would be a cool conversation starter.

The best part Bryan Cranston’s dating video past is this: On The Graham Norton show, he, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Eddie Redmayne made new video dating profiles. The three actors used their charm and charisma to win over the ladies in cheesy pick-up artist ways. How could anyone say no to the guy who likes to be Malcolm In The Middle during a three-way?
