Canggu Cafes: 10 popular brunch spots to visit in Canggu, Bali
As a fellow brunch enthusiast and self-proclaimed global cafe tour guide, I can’t believe I’ve never visited Bali and patronised its cafe scene. Melbourne had set the bar high, but was I about to be swayed by the Southeast Asia equivalent, specifically the Canggu cafés in Bali?
It’s no surprise that many Singaporeans flock over for a weekend getaway to soak in the affordable dining options, massive beach clubs, and value-for-money wellness treatments. Yet, it’s always the same few brunch spots that everyone visits. I thought I’d expand on the familiar favourites, see where the hype is, and put them in a handy (online) guide. After all, convenience, aesthetics, and the overall worth in taste and cost are what matters, right?
Mind you, this is by no means a list of the best cafes in Canggu, Bali. Overrated; underrated – make your call on these 10 popular brunch spots to visit in Canggu, Bali.
1. 7.AM Bakers
Here’s one for the bakery lovers – 7.AM Bakers. As soon as you step through the door, the comforting smell of buttery bakes envelopes you, reminiscent of a cherished home kitchen.
This bakery isn’t just a place; it’s a two-storey sanctuary for pastry enthusiasts, offering a wide selection of sweet and savoury treats. Trust me — you’ll be spoiled for choice.
While I didn’t arrive at 7am, I was greeted with a full house of customers slightly before noon, which only meant one thing — takeout. I left with a bag full of Madeleines (7,000 rupiah/piece), Almond Chocolatine (28,000 rupiah), Exotic Roll (45,000 rupiah) and a Strawberry Cruffin (40,000 rupiah).
The Almond Chocolatine takes centre stage—a flaky, almond-studded delight that begs to be paired with a meticulously brewed cup of their signature coffee. It’s no wonder it’s their bestseller.
If you’re in Canggu and yearning for a café experience that feels like a warm embrace, make your way to 7.AM Bakers. It’s a bakery haven that feels just like home. Remember to get the Almond Chocolatine too!

2. CRATE
‘CRATE is the cheapest and best café in Bali!’ That’s all I’ve heard from people around me when I told them I’m working on a list of Canggu cafés. And I could see what the hype was about, the minute I stepped foot into the industrial hideout.
Think canteen-meets-spruced-up-industrial-hut. From the wooden tables to the handwritten menu on the wall and the absence of air-conditioning, it reminded me of my school canteen experience but this time, optimised for tourists and adults. Oh, they adopted a queue system too. Just like recess!
CRATE is one of the only cafés in Canggu that don’t charge tax nor service charge, so the prices you see on the wall don’t require any additional math. Besides their huge breakfast servings, almost everyone here opts out of coffee and orders their Chia Smoothies (65,000 rupiah).
I got Sweet Ass (yes that’s the name) which consisted of chia pudding, frozen dragonfruit, raspberries and banana. It was huge. Other aesthetic chia pudding options range from Bluebs, Pucker Up and Chia Boi. Some in green, some in blue, but all edible goodness. Definitely one for the girls trip and for the ‘gram.

3. Copenhagen
Now, Copenhagen has been going around TikTok lately, with massive love shown for their DIY Breakfast Boards (69,000 rupiah for 3pcs, 99,000 rupiah for 5pcs). It’s just a stone’s throw away from Echo Beach too, making this a great pitstop before you hit the beach clubs.
Some call breakfast at Copenhagen an interactive experience. You get to curate your own breakfast adventure, choosing from a delightful spread of fresh bakes, eggs, fruit, sweets and protein. perfectly baked bread, and more. It’s breakfast on your terms, and it’s as Instagram-worthy as it gets. From all the hype on social media, it looks like the smoothie bowl is a must-order.

4. KYND COMMUNITY
Any Vegetarians in the house? KYND COMMUNITY is the ultimate plant-based paradise in Canggu, Bali! This spot is like the Willy Wonka factory of vegan goodness, boasting a menu so epic, you won’t believe it’s all plant-based magic.
Morning, noon, or night, KYND’s got you covered with a menu that’s both legit and veg. The smoothie bowls are practically famous, and the Big Boss Breaky (95,000 rupiah) is no joke. Not to mention the Acai Smoothie Bowl (95,000 rupiah) and the Balinese Big Mac Burger (95,000 rupiah) that might just redefine your (veggie) burger expectations.
It’s more than just the food though; it’s the chill atmosphere that draws you in. No frills, no fuss, just good eats. And when the sun dips below the horizon, don’t bail just yet. The cocktails here are not messing around—they’re crafted to perfection.
KYND COMMUNITY is that spot you stumble upon and then can’t stop talking about. The cocktails here too don’t mess around. No hype, just solid food in the heart of Bali’s laid-back epicentre.

5. Miel Coffee
If you’re coming to Bali, fully embracing the digital nomad life, save a spot for Miel Coffee. Lush greenery and natural sunlight surround every nook of this two-storey café, making it one of my personal favourites.
Unlike the more known Canggu cafés, Miel Coffee is situated along a semi-quiet road, right next to Shocked Dog Market. You don’t have to worry about a crowd here because of its massive space. Digital nomads would appreciate the second storey which has bigger tables and is quieter. The air-conditioning could be more powerful, though.
As per my pre-WFC (work from café) ritual, I fueled up with an Iced Cappuccino (40,000 rupiah) and the Smashed Avo (75,000 rupiah).
The staff here were so meticulous in perfecting the customer experience. For the first time ever, I got asked how I would like my bread done – soft, medium, or crispy. Insane! I opted for medium and am glad to report it was just as I expected.
From the interior design to customer service, coffee and atmosphere, this was a ten out of ten for me.

6. Milk & Madu
Pull up a chair at Milk & Madu’s Beach Road spot in Canggu, where the vibe is as chill as the island breeze. This place is all about keeping it real—no air conditioning, just good old sunshine and fresh air while you grub.
What’s the deal with Milk and Madu? Well, it’s become a go-to for Singaporeans, and it’s as overrated as you think. The breakfast menu is the real MVP, offering bang for your buck without compromising on flavour and portion.
Let’s talk grub, and if you’re a fan of Australian-inspired brunch, the Crispy Corn Fritters (90,000 rupiah) is for you. Served with two poached eggs, crispy bacon and avocado salsa, this is one I’d order again the next time I’m back.
If you’re kicking it in Canggu and want a laid-back brekkie with an extensive all-day menu, hit up Milk & Madu Beach Road. No fancy air conditioning, just good food, good vibes, and a wallet-friendly menu with portions that’ll keep you satiated.

7. Monsieur Spoon
Picture this: You’re looking for a café to chill after shopping at Love Anchor Market. Don’t lie, I know it’s on your itinerary… Enter Monsieur Spoon, a rendezvous with French flavours in a tropical paradise.
I love a hidden café along a bustling street that boasts a large alfresco area, and Monsieur Spoon being 10 meters away (literally), just seals the deal for me.
Plus, it’s incredibly affordable. I succumbed to French Toast (58,000 rupiah) hype and while it didn’t blow my mind, it makes for a great sweet treat to share with friends after some shopping.
I noticed many walking in to do takeaway and found the Chocolate Tart (40,000 rupiah), Lemon Tart (40,000 rupiah), and Croissant (21,000 rupiah) to be top of the lot. Don’t make the same mistake as me and remember to get your hands on some viennoiseries!

8. Mowie’s
Again, another café that fully embraces the outdoor dining experience, Mowie’s. This made my list thanks to Google reviews, with many singing praises about their prices, portions, and interesting, how kid-friendly it was.
I walked into the hut-like café and casually sat by the pool. Yes, you read that right. There’s a swimming pool at Mowie’s and it’s not just for children! One could sit by the pool, order some food, and have a cheeky dip. There might be stares but hey, it’s all about the experience right?
I’d highly recommend digital nomads to swing by and camp here for an afternoon. Wifi is one of the strongest I’ve got in Bali!
If you take a quick look at Mowie’s tagged Instagram photos, you’ll easily find a picture of a salad in every 1 of 3 photos. I, too, joined the bandwagon and ordered the Chicken Zucchini Tumble (68,000 rupiah) and an Iced Latte (35,000 rupiah).
For the price I paid, this was the best salad of my entire trip. The generous portion kept me filled that morning and the coffee was oh so creamy and velvety. If you’re in need of some greens and coffee, Mowie’s is the spot.

9. Penny Lane
Welcome to Penny Lane, the laid-back oasis in Canggu that’s not just a café—it’s an attraction. Tourists flock here, and it’s no mystery why from the moment you arrive. And yes, it’s as pretty as the Instagram stories!
The Super Smash (98,000 rupiah) is a heavyweight champ on the menu. Picture this: smashed avocado, bacon, feta, and the secret weapon—poached eggs, all on one plate to get you fueled for the day.
And then there’s the Shukshuka Eggs with Chorizo (100,000 rupiah). While it was pretty normal, it makes for a good option if you’re looking for something to munch on during a catchup or gossip session.
Now, Penny Lane isn’t just a daytime affair. While it’s one of the Canggu cafés many visit for brunch, I’d recommend coming back at night too, and the magic continues. Sip on something refreshing, soak in the vibes, and make those Bali nights count.

10. Revolver
If there’s one spot that I always see friends post when in Bali – it’s Revolver Coffee. It’s classic, basic, a non-negotiable – an icon. Some have voiced out saying it’s overrated but my experience begs to differ.
From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by the friendliest staff who paid great attention to me throughout. I settled for an Iced Latte (45,000 rupiah) and the Truffle Mushroom Hash (95,000 rupiah).
While it was nothing out-of-this-world, the entire brunch experience from entrance to exit left me skipping off gleefully. Bonus points to the industrial-chic decor and the laid-back soundtrack!
And for all you digital nomads out there, Revolver Coffee is the perfect workspace. The Wi-Fi is on point, and the coffee keeps flowing. It’s basically a freelancer’s dream office. I stayed here for 2 hours and found it too comfortable to leave!
