Marriott Hotels doubles down on its commitment to all-inclusive experiences in some of the world's most popular vacation destinations. On Sept. 7, the company celebrated the opening of Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort, the first-ever Marriott-branded all-inclusive property geared toward family and multigenerational travel.

The sprawling 450-key resort sits on a prime stretch of white sandy beach in Cancun's bustling Hotel Zone, just 20 minutes from the airport, offering travelers a worry-free vacation immersed in local experiences and standout amenities.

"Our goal is to set a new standard for the all-inclusive experience by bringing our legacy of unparalleled hospitality to this growing segment," Drew Iddings, Marriott Hotels's vice president and global brand leader, told Travel + Leisure. "With Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort, we're ensuring that every guest — whether they're here for relaxation, adventure, or family bonding — has a truly enriching and memorable experience."

A grand, airy lobby greets guests, boasting panoramic vistas of the family pool flanked by chaise lounges, a water park, and a lazy river. Travelers can choose between spacious guest rooms and suites awash in earthy shades with floor-to-ceiling windows, private balconies with seating, and bathrooms with walk-in showers.

For the ultimate treat, book one of the sumptuous one-bedroom presidential suites designed with fully equipped kitchens, living rooms, dining spaces, and two large balconies with views of the Nichupte Lagoon to the west and the Caribbean to the east. Travelers are also pampered with a walk-in closet, a soaking bathtub, and custom furnishings made with local materials.

While the resort is ideal for families with children, couples and solo travelers should not overlook it if they want a relaxing getaway in this vibrant part of Cancun. The resort features a beautiful infinity-edge adults-only pool with a swim-up bar, a waterfront Cevicheria, and separate access to the beach. The area feels tranquil and private without compromising on amenities or sea views. According to Iddings, this reflects the resort's concept of having something for everyone, enabling guests to choose between "we time or me time."

While parents sip cocktails by the pool, children stay entertained at the resort's indoor/outdoor kid's club, for which Marriott partnered with the New York-based Camp Club. The facility offers 5,000 square feet of fun and engaging activities and creative spaces, such as a splatter room, a zipline, a stage for performances, and a sound cabin equipped with musical instruments. Another facility, The Workshop, focused on arts and crafts, will bring together local artists and guests later this fall.

However, when it comes to multigenerational fun, Chris Calabrese, vice president and general manager for the Marriott Cancun All-Inclusive and JW Marriott Cancun, highlights the potential of the resort's arcade/sports bar. It has games perfect for adults and teenagers and, in the evening, converts into an entertainment space for dancing and karaoke.

The on-site dining program was given special attention. It features nine standout concepts, including classics such as a poolside pizzeria, a coffee shop, and a Japanese restaurant with two distinct options: teppanyaki and izakaya. "The all-inclusive customer is looking for a lot of dining options, especially in the evening, because that's when they spend time with the family and enjoy that," Calabrese explained.

The resort's casual Mexican restaurant, Casa Madre, offers al fresco dining and a variety of authentic Mexican flavors celebrating the country's rich culinary traditions. Another excellent option, which comes with prime sea views, is Sacbé Beach Shack, a Tulum-inspired restaurant tucked away on the beach. Look out for the mobile food carts, which pop up daily in the lobby and by the pool, serving fresh tacos and tamales.

And if you're feeling nostalgic, stop by Mo's Burgers and Shakes, a vintage-inspired diner-like eatery serving the mouthwatering Mighty Mo sandwich, a Marriott signature for decades, comprising two beef patties, melted cheese, and the restaurant's not-so-secret sauce. ( The recipe is printed on posters on the walls.)

While wellness offerings are somewhat limited — guests can book treatments in the full-service spa at the neighboring JW Marriott Cancun for an extra charge — the resort does have a bright and airy new gym as well as a daily schedule of complimentary workout classes.

Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort, marks the beginning of a new chapter for the global hospitality company. As demand for all-inclusive experiences grows, Iddings revealed that two more properties are in the works for this and next year—one in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and another in Djerba, Tunisia.

You can book your stay at Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort, on marriott.com, where nightly rates start from $499.
