It can prove tricky deciding what to wear before leaving the house in the run-up to winter with our crisp morning commute making room for August-worthy temperatures come afternoon. So how can you keep toasty without having to whip out your brand new coat?

Let us introduce you to the world’s first nose warmer – the answer to all of your sartorial woes.

Yes, a Sheffield-based company aptly named ‘The Nose Warmer Company’ is selling the admittedly niche design for just £7.50 in a bid to help warm up “the nippy noses of the nation”.

And what better way to help out those who fall victim to Rudolph-worthy snouts with the change in season?

Some nose warmers have been crafted from British wool while others are knitted using fleece or faux fur. The accessorises can be purchased in a wide range of hues too with animal print or autumn-ready ‘burnt amber’ up for grabs.

For those of you interested in giving the attachable nose warmer as a Christmas present this year, then you’ll be pleased to learn that a gift box can be purchased for an additional 79p.

Still not entirely convinced? Well, there’s scientific evidence to suggest that the nose warmer may well help boost productivity in the workplace.

According to a recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Nottingham, our noses feel the cold under increased mental pressure.

By using a non-invasive thermal camera, the team of experts discovered that our bodies divert blood flow from our face to the brain in order to cope with increased demand. In other words, when we concentrate harder we’re more likely to develop a flushed nose.

So next time you’re slumped at your desk struggling with a mounting workload, may we suggest that you throw on the humble nose warmer…
