Camilla Belle to star alongside James Franco in 'The Mad Whale'

Camilla Belle has been confirmed to join the cast of James Franco's historical drama "The Mad Whale" reports Variety.

Belle will star alongside Franco, whose company Elysium Bandini Studios is also co-producing the movie, as well as Dominic Rains, Summer Phoenix and Nicole Starrett.

The film is set in the late 1800s in the harrowing world of a women's mental asylum, and tells the stories of the patient's production of a play based on Herman Melville's "Moby Dick."

Belle has previously starred in "The Ballad of Jack and Rose," "10,000 BC," "Push" and "Breakaway."
