A South Carolina woman got quite a scare when she spotted a snake on her car during her drive to work.

Earlier this week, the woman — identified only as L. Ford by local outlet WYFF — saw the large reptile on the hood of her vehicle amid her daily commute.

"I was about halfway to work when I saw this black snake slithering back and forth across my hood," Ford told the outlet. "At one point, it got between my wind guards and my window."

"Luckily, I had both windows rolled up," she added.

Ford was able to capture a video of the reptile on her car, which she later shared with WYFF.

Still, she admitted that the moment was very scary to experience. "I was ... dying of a panic attack. Snakes are my biggest phobia," Ford told the outlet.

As for where she thinks the snake came from, Ford told WYFF, "I'm guessing it was in my engine compartment, and once it got too hot, it decided to move to a cooler spot, and that's when I saw it."

Ford also confirmed that the animal wasn't found after her drive. "Hopefully, it exited my vehicle and found a new home," she said.
