When it comes to fancy sneaker partnerships, C.P. Company has an impressive footwear resume.
The Italian luxury brand is best known for its sportswear and textile innovation, however, it has also throughout the years collaborated with an impressive assortment of brands on limited edition collaborative shoes.
Chester Perry, also known as C.P., was founded in 1971 by “the Godfather of sportswear,” Massimo Osti. The brand changed its name in 1978 from Chester Perry Brand to its current name. The brand prides itself on its subtly, non-conformist interpretation of functional men’s wardrobe classics and signature hybridization of archival military, work and sportswear models, combining them with intensely researched, cutting-edge, Italian fabric innovation.
C.P. Company stayed true to its promise when it comes to their shoe collaborations as well. From dockside Sebagos to two-toned, textured Clarks, its take on a variety of Adidas staples and making an Asics and Diemmes anything but basic, we’re taking a look at the brand’s best collaborations over the years.
C.P. Company x Palace x Diemme
Released on December 16, 2022, the Cornaro is named after Diemme’s favorite pizzeria and is made from wax-treated suede with rubber toe caps and metal D-rings. A hiking boot at its core, the shoe is a sleeker, more streamline hiker than most while undoubtedly blurring the lines between hiker and trainer. This two brands reimagined the low-cut silhouette in two vibrant colorways of black/lilac and a pleasingly-autumnal ensemble of green and brown hues.
C.P. Company x ASICS
Released on February 22, 2024, the Gel-Quantum 360 VIII sneaker draws inspiration from natural forms and interlocking structures. Its upper construction is reimagined with 5D printed details that resemble ergonomic shapes found in nature. Meanwhile, the advanced Trusstic technology and external back counter help create better stability and a more dynamic appearance. The shoe’s midsole has been redesigned with Division Space technology to offer more cushioning and less weight. They come in black and silver and a bright yellow color.
C.P. Company x Adidas Originals
In August of 2018, C.P. Company re-imagined the Samba, Kamanda (one of the Three Stripes’ newer Originals silhouettes), and the Marathon over six unique colorways. The Samba is offered in gray, navy blue, and red options, while the Kamanda comes in dark green and light brown color schemes, and the Marathon dons a black and royal blue look. Each pair features dual branding on the tongue tabs and is constructed using an array of premium materials.
C.P. Company x Adidas Spezial
C.P. Company teamed up with Adidas again in October 2021 to release the C.P. Company X Adidas Spezial to honor their anniversary and their national heritage. With this design, C.P. Company opted to subtly update a 50 year old version of the adidas Italia silhouette. Working closely with the Spezial team to examine and review various versions of the vintage Italia, other design features from shoes of a similar era – primarily an ultra rare pair of French made Rom – are incorporated to create the adidas Italia SPZL.
The upper specifications of previous Italia reissues are reworked and the shoe is fabricated primarily in a white full grain leather with details in green and red. The stripes use plush green flocking with the toe guarded by an off-white overlay. Each shoe carries alternate branding from both brands between the gold foil print below the collar and the shiny green tongue patches popularized by a number of archival Made in France adidas models. The Spezial swing tag is executed in white leather and is embossed with the C.P. Company ‘sailor’ graphic. This timeless silhouette arrives packaged in a commemorative camouflage print box that connects it to the jacket and comes replete with an extra pair of outsoles and foxing which allow the owner to extend the life of these adidas classics.
C.P. Company x Clarks
Released in March 2022, this collaboration celebrates 50 years of the iconic Desert Trek, with two iterations transformed using a combination of suede and rubber to reinforce the capsule’s heritage-meets-new approach.
C.P. Company x Sebago
Released in July 2021, using C.P. Company’s signature outerwear and textile heritage, the collaboration taps in to Sebago’s signature Dockside silhouette.
The shoe has been overdyed in a similar process to the windbreaker, and is available in red, blue and green colorways.
