Bunga Citra Lestari dedicates new song to late husband Ashraf Sinclair
20 Jul – Indonesian singer-songwriter Bunga Citra Lestari has eternalised the love between her and her late husband, Malaysian actor Ashraf Sinclair, in her new song "12 Tahun Terindah" ("12 Beautiful Years").
Bunga, also known as BCL, launched the song along with a music video, which includes a few clips that feature herself with the late actor and their son Noah, on her official YouTube channel It's Me BCL yesterday.
"The song tells of my uncertainty in facing new days. When life changes too quickly, without notice and like it or not, life must go on.
"I try to look back at the years that I've gone through with Ashraf. I thank God for giving me 12 beautiful years with Ashraf.
"[We went] through the thick and thin of love, which made me believe in love," she said, according to Harian Metro.
While making the song, aside from penning lyrics for the first time, the "Habibie & Ainun" actress also learned the process of song producing, including demo recording session and vocal processing.
As precaution during the COVID-19 pandemic, BCL practices the new normal by recording her new song with Ifa Fachir at her own residence.
Through Instagram Story, BCL shared that celebrity friends like Adam dan Aishah Sinclair, Yuna, Dato' Siti Nurhaliza, Ariel NOAH, Judika and Baim Wong shed tears when listening to the song.
In support of his sister-in-law, Adam also directed and edited the song's music video.
The four-minute long video received positive reception following its release, having amassed 4.8 million views and 870 likes at the time of writing.
BCL and Ashraf previously starred together in an Indonesia movie called "Saus Kacang" that was released in 2008.
Ashraf passed away at home on 18 February 2020 due to a heart attack.
