Britney Spears reflected on living under a conservatorship while celebrating her 40th birthday.

The pop star continued to share her experiences while living and working under the legal arrangement in a series of Instagram posts last week. Amid several celebration posts shared on her 40th birthday, Spears also revealed some of the conditions she lived under for the past 13 years, including limited social time and extensive therapy, while approaching the sensitive subjects with optimism and humor.

The "Lucky" singer posted a clip in which she parodies her past therapy sessions, acting as both her therapist and herself. She wrote in the caption that she was previously forced to attend and pay for sessions several times a week, which she also claimed in her emotional court address last June.

"As much therapy as I’ve had to do against my will … being forced to pay and listen to women telling me how they are going to further my success … it was a joy … no really … 10 hours a day, 7 days a week … no lie … in this beautiful nation it would only be fair for me to dedicate my life to skits to the wonderful therapist," she wrote, along with an eyes-rolling emoji.

"The end is me celebrating … it’s clearly OVER because my medication is working ‘Murica !!!!" she added.

The star also shared a slideshow of herself posing in a series of mini dresses, including a fiery red fringed dress and a purple and orange patchwork dress with a matching scarf. She reveals in the caption that she was making up for lost time after rarely going out during her Vegas residencies.

"I’m not turning 40 … I’m turning 4 and if any of you haven’t HEARD … I did almost 250 shows in Las Vegas for 4 years and went out twice!!!! With that said … I think I will have to put on my hot little dresses on every night for the rest of my life to break even for working for my family my whole life with only old songs permitted !!!" she wrote.

The "Hold It Against Me" singer also posted a more traditional birthday clip, a montage of herself and her fiancé Sam Asghari enjoying an international trip for her first birthday since her conservatorship ended.

"I’m so blessed and grateful !!!! Tears of joy today … Thank you for all the b-day wishes !!!! Psss I didn’t even drink the champagne no lie !!!!" she wrote.
