Britney Spears had abortion during Justin Timberlake relationship, memoir says

Britney Spears got pregnant while dating Justin Timberlake, though she ultimately had an abortion, according to sources with direct knowledge of the pop star’s memoir hitting shelves next week.

The “Stronger” singer, 41, learned she was carrying the 42-year-old NSYNC singer’s baby in late 2000, as is reportedly detailed in “The Woman In Me,” out Oct. 24, insiders told TMZ.

Spears was “conflicted,” due to her Christian upbringing and family who advised against abortions. She writes that she wanted to marry the “SexyBack” singer, whom she thought was her soulmate, sources told the outlet. Their relationship spanned from 1999 to 2002.

Spears for years wrestled with the aftermath of deciding to have an abortion.

She and Timberlake both went on to have families of their own. Spears has two sons — Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden, 17 — with second husband Kevin Federline. Timberlake and wife Jessica Biel together also share two sons, Silas and Phineas, ages 8 and 2, respectively.

The abortion isn’t the only major reveal in Spears’ memoir. In a new interview promoting the book, she spoke to People about infamously shaving her head in 2007, and how her notorious conservatorship — which lasted over a decade — “so infantilized” her.

“I’d been eyeballed so much growing up. I’d been looked up and down, had people telling me what hey thought of my body, since I was a teenager. Shaving my head and acting out were my ways of pushing back,” the “Gimme More” singer told the magazine. “But under the conservatorship I was made to understand that those days were now over. I had to grow my hair out and get back into shape. I had to go to bed early and take whatever medication they told me to take.”

The book will hit shelves nearly two years after the termination of her conservatorship, which she said turned her into “a robot.”

“But not just a robot — a sort of child-robot,” Spears explained to People. “I had been so infantilized that I was losing pieces of what made me feel like myself.”
