Boy Abunda denies leaving ABS-CBN

1 Oct – Kapamilya talk show king Boy Abunda has recently dismissed rumours that he is leaving his network for a greener pasture.

As reported on ABS-CBN, the TV personality, who was speculated to be joining GMA in the near future, admitted to have spoken to several parties previously, though has no intention to do so.

"I have been in discussion with various parties, including people who are affiliated with 7. I've been offered by other channels. I've been asked by people affiliated with TV5. I've been negotiating with other independent producers to do talk shows," he said. "But I'm still waiting for ABS-CBN to have free TV."

It is noted that ABS-CBN's franchise renewal was not approved back in May 2020 and was left to expire by the government. It had since caused many of the Kapamilya network stars to move elsewhere for work.

Abunda stated that even though he really missed doing his talk shows on television, he will wait until ABS becomes a free TV again, rather than sign with another network.
