Bonnie Chan to marry Malaysian billionaire's grandson
31 May – A former Miss Hong Kong alumna is getting married. Guess which family she is marrying into?
Bonnie Chan, second runner-up to Miss Hong Kong 2016 recently went on social media to announce her engagement, sharing a photo of her fiancé and wrote, "Said YES to the love of my life."
"Thank you baby for your love, the joy, and all that you do for us. Here's to the next chapter and happiest memories in the making," she added.
After much digging, it was revealed that the former TVB personality has been dating DJ Kuok Meng Jun. But DJ Kuok is no ordinary DJ, as he is also reportedly the grandson of Malaysian billionaire Robert Kuok, also known as the wealthiest man in the country.
For those not in the know, the Kuok empire range from sugarcane plantations, sugar refineries, flour milling, animal feed, oil, mining, finance, hotels, property, trading, freight, and publishing - with the biggest source of wealth being a stake in Wilmar International, the world's largest listed palm oil trader company.
Kuok Meng Jun himself is a 32 year-old Stanford University graduate who majored in communications and digital media, but chose to pursue his passion in music.
On the other hand, Bonnie worked as a host for TVB for several years following her beauty pageant stint, but quit last year to pursue a career as a fitness instructor.
She announced her relationship with her boyfriend in November last year but had never revealed his face until recently.
