Kit Chan, Taufik and Ken Lim named as judges for ‘The Final 1′ reality show
Ken Lim, Taufik Batisah and Kit Chan have been announced as the judges for Channel 5's upcoming reality singing show, "The Final One".
Lim, the director of Hype Records, is no stranger to Channel 5, having been the resident guru and Simon Cowell figure during the Singapore Idol run in the early 2000s.
Inaugural Singapore Idol winner in 2004 Taufik Batisah also knows what it takes to win. Since his win, the 31-year-old has established himself as an award-winning singer/songwriter on both sides of the Causeway.
Kit Chan is perhaps the surprise pick and, despite being one of Singapore's most established and multi-faceted artistes, is known for keeping a low profile.
The 40-year-old songstress tied the knot in an intimate ceremony last December with her long-time boyfriend of 13 years.
The low-key wedding at The Pines - a country club in central Singapore -- was kept to eight tables of about 100 guests in total, so it will be interesting to see how she takes to critiquing on national television.
A total of 60 contestants were picked from over 1,000 entries to take part in "The Final 1", but only 10 finalists will make it into the final stages of the competition.
Over the course of 17 weeks, television viewers will choose who gets axed at each episode until the last one standing. That person takes home a S$100,000 prize.
"The Final 1" debuts on April 24, 8pm on Channel 5.
