British celebrity chef Jamie Oliver will be opening a restaurant in VivoCity in the summer of next year.

Singapore will be the restaurant chain's fifth international destination and the first one in Southeast Asia. Currently, outside of the UK, it has outlets in Dubai, Dublin Perth and Sydney.

"I can't tell you how excited I am to be opening a restaurant in VivoCity. It's such a fantastic location and I'm delighted to be able to bring Jamie's Italian experience to the wonderful people of Singapore," he said in a statement on the chain's website.

The restaurant is currently recruiting for senior management positions, it said.
