Fan to Fann: Here’s all I have
In one of the stranger celebrity-related stories in weeks, a local Chinese daily has reported that a female fan has willed all her worldly possessions to Singapore actress Fann Wong.
In a report published on Sunday entitled "Fann Wong to inherit a million dollars from crazy fan", Lianhe Wanbao said the woman, whose full name was not revealed, will give all her material wealth including car, condo, stocks and savings to Fann Wong as part of her last will and testament.
Not much is known about the fan except that she is 40 years old, holds a Singaporean identity card and was a manager in a company. She is said to be a huge movie buff .
The report said the will was drawn up by a lawyer five years ago but it's not mentioned if she has passed on.
When contacted, Fann Wong's manager said it's the first time she has heard of someone willing her fortune to the actress.
The 41-year-old actress, who is married to fellow celeb Christopher Lee and is the star of Hollywood shows like Shanghai Knights and Dance of the Dragon, herself did not comment on the story.
Some have questioned the authenticity of the news while others also said the fan could have donated the money to charity instead.
Facebook user Zenn Ho wrote on Wanbao's Facebook page, "Children in other poorer countries are suffering without food, clothing and shelter. Why Fann Wong? She is rich enough and don't need to make her richer."
Others like Facebook user Chye Teck urged Fann to donate the money to charity.
