Ex-Led Zep singer Robert Plant to headline 2013 Timbre Rocks and Roots festival
Former Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant and 12-time Grammy legend Paul Simon will headline next year's Timbre Rock and Roots festival in Singapore.
The blues music festival, which is back for the fourth year running, will also feature country legend Bonnie Raitt, Jamaican singer Jimmy Cliff, blues rockers Tedeschi Trucks Band and American-Canadian singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright.
This time, the two-day festival will be held at Fort Canning Green on 21 and 22 March.
Plant, 64, who was the voice of groundbreaking 60s rock band Led Zeppelin, will be here with his latest band, The Sensational Space Shifters, but will play a selection of his Led Zep hits.
Timbre co-owner and co-festival director Edward Chia said next year's festival will be structured so artistes and audiences can mingle in one venue.
"Each of these artistes could actually hold their own concerts; however we are bringing all of them together in a festival setting for our audiences to enjoy all these performances with one ticket," he said.
March is turning out be a month of concerts for rock music fans with legendary guitarist Santana, veteran rockers Journey and alternative band The Script all set to play here.
