Yahoo! Singapore’s guide to weekend fun (3-5 May)

Huge fashion displays and outdoor festivals will make you forget that busy work week. You deserve the break!

Uniqlo UT Pop-up! Singapore 2013

Get cool t-shirts with Andy Warhol and Star Wars designs at Uniqlo’s unique exhibit-store. After (or between) making your purchases, you can take animated photos with the UT Camera app, check out the works of emerging local designers and photographers, or listen to local bands from Noise Singapore. 4-5 May, 12 pm. 72-13 Mohamed Sultan Road. Admission is free.

Spring Wave Dance 2013
In the mood for a dance party? This electronic music festival featuring DJs like ATB, Markus Schulz and Jochen Miller might fit the bill. You’ll also love the atmosphere that only an outdoor event like this can bring. 4 May, 11 pm. Gardens by the Bay. Tickets from $78.

2013 Spring Wave Music Festival
The line-up is quite impressive: You have Mando-pop stars Joanna Wang, Wu Bai, Jam Hsiao, Olivia Ong, Cheer Chen and Zhang Zhen Yue. The music festival is also the first to be done outside of Taiwan, and will last for about seven hours – well worth the price! 4 May, 2.30 pm. Gardens by the Bay. Tickets from $98.

Orchard Fashion Runway
This fashion show will literally stop traffic in Orchard Road. The runway will stretch from the Scotts/Paterson junction to Bideford junction, and the road will be closed to make way for the couture showcase. About 170 models will strut their stuff wearing labels like Victoria by Victoria Beckham and Fausto Puglisi, as part of Fashion Steps Out 2013. 4 May, 8.30 pm. Orchard Road. Admission is free.

Singapore Slingers vs Westport’s Malaysia Dragons
Support the home team as they take on our northern neighbours in a basketball match that will test their rivalry. There will be competitions and prizes, cheerleading performances and a Singaporean mascot too. 5 May, 4 pm. Singapore Indoor Stadium. Tickets from $8.
