Blake Lively shares what she'll be doing on Monday instead of attending the Met Gala
The Met Gala 2023 is fast approaching – like, within hours kinda approaching – and we're hella excited to see all the celebrities attempting to out-do each other with their outfits. But one celebrity who'll be noticeably missing from Monday night's event is Blake Lively who, some may argue, is the Queen of the Met.
Yep, despite being a fan favourite when it comes to the Met Gala, Blake – who recently welcomed her fourth child with Ryan Reynolds – confirmed to reporters this week that she won't be in attendance at the event, although what she's doing instead is pretty relatable.
"I will be watching," she said, per E! Online, revealing that she'll be doing exactly what the rest of us are planning to. And that's not all, as the Gossip Girl star also joked that she'll even wear her beloved 2022 Met Gala look to mark the occasion. "[I'll wear my dress] on my couch on Monday," she said, referencing the Atelier Versace gown she wore at last year's Met Gala.
As for who else will – and won't be – a this year's Met Gala, there's a string of celebrities we can count on seeing. Of course, Vogue's Anna Wintour will be in attendance, as will her co-hosts, Dua Lipa, Penelope Cruz and Michaela Coel.
Although the rest of the guest list has been kept under wraps (as usual), many have speculated that the most recent cover of Vogue is a nod to this. The May issue of the magazine celebrates the late designer, Karl Lagerfeld – whom Monday night's gala is themed on, a decision that has been criticised by some – and features 10 models he loved working with, including Naomi Campbell, Gigi Hadid, Devon Aoki and Kendall Jenner.
Kim Kardashian is also expected to attend, despite speculation that she wasn't invited, after recently posting on Instagram that she'd headed to Paris to prep for the event.
