Blackpink's Jennie stars in new Chanel 22 bag campaign video

This campaign features four icons of their generation, Lily-Rose Depp, Margaret Qualley, Whitney Peak and Jennie, in four different settings.

The Chanel 22 bag is bound to be the rage as big bags take centre stage again. Named for the year the bag was 'born', the Chanel 22 bag was created by creative director Virginie Viard as part of the Spring/Summer'22 collection.

And now we're in for a lucky spin; Chanel just released a new video directed by Dutch fashion photographers duo Inez & Vinoodh, featuring Blackpink's Jennie. In the one-minute video, fans will witness Jennie in the backdrop of South Korea, with recognisable locations around the country and two Jennies that seem to 'coexist.'

Inez & Vinood developed this story from the idea of a split personality: on one hand, we have the perfectionist K-pop star Jennie, and on the other hand, the funny and unruly young Jennie. Jennie plays two characters, but the film will slowly reveals that they are just two sides of her character. 'As with the first three films starring Lily Rose-Depp, Margaret Qualley and Whitney Peak, the central theme of this episode with Jennie is self-confidence: what makes you feel confident in your life, whether it's your friends, being by yourself at home, nature. They all have their own ways of feeling good about themselves," Inez & Vinood shared in a media statement.

Of course, we mustn't forget the other star of the film: the Chanel 22 bag. The bag, the latest addition to the House’s leather goods line, is unveiled in a new format: a mini version. Colourful, singular and understated, it aligns the codes of pop culture with those of Chanel - the quilted leather, the metal chain interlaced with leather, the “Chanel Paris” medallion with its openwork double C. Just like the tote and backpack versions, the mini is an everyday ally. Ultra-modern, the Chanel 22 bag represents a new generation that is uninhibited, creative and cosmopolitan.
