Blackie Chen expresses support for wife after emotional rant

31 Jan – Taiwanese entertainer Blackie Chen recently expressed his support for wife Christine Fan, who recently received backlash over her rant against Taiwanese Premier Su Tseng-chang.

As reported on Mingpao, following the actress' recent post, Blackie took to social media to defend Christine writing, "Never give up in looking for the best in yourself. The willingness to admit mistakes is noble and takes courage. I love you."

However, many netizens were not amused at all by the gesture of words, saying that the two stars should instead go to Wuhan and volunteer themselves if they really are "noble".

Christine sparked netizens' anger recently after slamming the Taiwanese Premier over his decision to halt the export of medical-grade face masks outside the island to prioritise Taiwanese citizens.

"Can this corrupt official still be considered human? Look what is going on! This [expletive] surely could not be this inhumane!" she wrote.

She later apologised and removed the said post, saying that she was emotional. Christine also expressed hope that people will have more love and tolerance.

On 30 January, the actress posted a black image on her Instagram, and disabled the comments section, writing, "Goodbye, good night for now."
