Fans of BIGBANG’s G-dragon gifted the K-pop star a forest on Korea’s Jeju Island for his upcoming 29th birthday.

G-dragon, whose real name is Kwon Ji-yong, will celebrate turning a year older on 18 August.

The grand opening for the ‘Kwon Ji-yong Forest No. 1’ was held at the Seogwipo Citrus Museum in Jeju Island on Sunday (14 May).

It is considered the first ‘celebrity forest project’ in Jeju Island, and was started last August 2016 by G-Dragon’s fan-site, “Always-GD” and social company Tree Planet.

According to The Korean Herald, all fruits borne by the 50 citrus trees that were planted on the site will be harvested and donated to charity.

Besides the newly opened forest, fans of BIGBANG (called VIPs) can also visit G-Dragon’s Cafe Aewol Monsant while on Jeju Island.

Fans of G-Dragon who can’t make it to Jeju any time soon, don’t despair. He’ll be performing in Singapore on 24 and 25 June, and tickets will go on sale on 20 May.
