BIGBANG’s leader, G-Dragon, kicked off his world tour “ACT III, M.O.T.T.E” in Seoul on 10 June (Saturday) at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, with approximately 40,000 in attendance.

According to South Korean media sources, G-Dragon spoke about his impending enlistment into the South Korean army next year.

“I’m enlisting in the army next year, so this might be my last (concert) for now. When I return, I will be 32-years-old (in Korean age). Is that all right?” he reportedly told fans.

They replied him with a reassuring cheer, and also said, “Oppa, kajima (Korean for ‘please don’t go’)”.

For this concert, the rapper-singer-songwriter invited fellow label-mate and former 2NE1 member CL on stage to perform “The Leaders”, as well as popular singer-actress IU for their duet song “Palette” and “Missing You”.

G-Dragon, whose real name is Kwon Ji-yong, recently released his third solo album, “KWON JI-YONG”, which has already topped charts in South Korea and also headlines for being presented in a USB format.

According to Yonhap News, G-Dragon said to the audience during the concert, “The ‘G-Dragon’ persona is just one part of me, but I think he is a singer with a very flamboyant and over-the-top image. That’s why I really wanted to show what the real Kwon Ji-yong is like.”

“Whichever persona you prefer, whether it’s the Kwon Ji-yong who dresses shabbily or the flamboyant G-Dragon, I do hope you will watch over me and continue to support me,” he added.

After Seoul, G-Dragon will take his “ACT III, M.O.T.T.E” concert world tour to Macau, Singapore, Thailand, North America, Australia and Japan. More stops have yet to be announced.

For those who will be missing the leader of BIGBANG when he enlists into the army next year, you can catch him at his solo concert in Singapore on 24 and 25 June.
