Bgain 121 Eating House – Newly-renovated coffee shop in Hougang with 7 interesting new stalls

Neighbourhood coffee shops leave a lasting impression on me. I love how easy it is to get my fix of chap cai png, wanton mee, and old-school western food from these coffee shops because everything is situated at one place. The newly-renovated Bgain 121 Eating House at Hougang definitely caught my eye when I saw the lineup of their stalls.

Bgain Eating House is a group of coffee shop operators that opened a chain of coffee stores with approximately 130 food stalls islandwide. Each outlet includes a myriad of stalls offering interesting hawker concepts from local traditional delights to new additions to the food scene.

For those who are looking for filling options, the store offers bowls of hearty Signature Scallion Dry noodles (S$4.50) and thick Mushroom minced meat and century egg congee with dough sticks (S$3.60).

Something that’s out of the ordinary is Singapore’s first ever DIY prata store, Prata lahhh!. You may be wondering what DIY prata means. Basically, say no more to plain ol’ conventional concoctions of egg, cheese and sausage prata.

You first choose from the mains: thosai, prata or goreng. Next, you pick specific ingredients that you want in your main. Try having Black pepper crab prata I never knew that crab and prata could go so well together! The unique offerings at Prata Lahhh! are not limited to just their prata, but their briyani as well. Have a go at their Lamb shank briyani (S$20) if you’re looking to indulge a little.

They also have familiar stalls that we commonly spot at other neighbourhood coffee shops like Char-Grill Bar and Hua Zai HK Style Roasted Delight. You’ll definitely get to satisfy your roast meat cravings here.

With the addition of Bgain 121 Eating House in the Hougang estate, this place is definitely going to do a roaring business with its crazy lineup.
